How should you store terpenes?
Store terpenes in a cool, dark cabinet, tightly capped, in glass or PTFE-lined containers — never plastic. Heat and UV light degrade the aromatic compounds, and open bottles lose flavor to evaporation, so recap immediately after each pour and keep a small working stock separate from sealed master bottles.
Degradation reads as flavor drift: a blend that tastes duller or slightly off compared to the day it arrived. Store bottles in a cool, dark cabinet — not on a sunny shelf, and not on a warm workbench next to running equipment.
Room temperature inside a closed cabinet is fine for working inventory. The enemies are heat cycles and direct light, not ordinary ambient conditions.
Seal tight — volatility works against you
Terpenes are volatile by nature; every minute a bottle sits open, aroma is leaving the blend and entering the room. Recap immediately after each pour and check that caps are seated firmly. If your workspace smells strongly of the blend, that is flavor you paid for evaporating.
Glass over plastic

Working-stock habits for production
In a production environment, do not work out of your master bottle. Decant a small working stock into a separate glass vial for the bench and keep the master sealed in the cabinet — it then opens a few times in its life instead of a dozen times a week.
